Junior

Junior, from Garden of Dreams partner organization WHEDco, was first introduced to Garden of Dreams when he visited the Garden for a New York Knicks game last spring and met Kristaps Porzingis before the game. This past fall, Junior sat courtside for the Knicks Open Practice, where he received Carmelo Anthony's jersey as part of the 'Knickerbocker Assist', and also visited the Empire State Building with Knicks alumni John Starks, Larry Johnson, and Bernard King. In December, Junior and his family joined the Knicks for the Knicks Holiday Shopping Spree at Target.

Garden of Dreams Week kicked off with Garden of Dreams night at the New York Knicks game! After signing with the team Monday afternoon, Garden of Dreams and Make-A-Wish Metro New York and Western New York teen Michael warmed up with his new teammates before their game against Oklahoma City Thunder. Garden of Dreams children also participated in many of the in-game experiences including the National Anthem, honorary PA announcers, fan tunnel, game ball delivery, honorary Knicks City Dancer, and halftime performances. The New York Knicks and the Garden of Dreams Foundation hosted 250 children and families from the New York City Department of Homeless Services for a Thanksgiving Dinner celebration. New York Knicks players Carmelo Anthony, Derrick Rose, Brandon Jennings, Courtney Lee, Joakim Noah, Willy Hernangomez, and Mindaugas Kuzminskas were on-hand serving Thanksgiving dinner. Hosted by Talent Harris and Damaris Lewis, the Thanksgiving Dinner celebration also included pop-a-shots, cookie decorating, and dance party to conclude the night!
