Rangers ‘Show Kids New York’: LIFE, the Place to Be
On October 11th, the New York Rangers and Garden of Dreams hosted 500 kids for a ‘Show Kids New York’ event at LIFE: The Place to Be in Westchester. Rangers players Brendan Smith and Steven Kampfer along with alumni Tom Laidlaw and Ron Greschner joined in on the fun as well. There were tons of activities for the children and players to participate in, including laser tag, gaga pit, bowling, photo booths, and inflatable bouncy houses.
There was not a dull moment for the kids, who were from Garden of Dreams partner organizations Children’s Aid Society, Police Athletic League, Madison Square Boys and Girls Club, Harlem Dowling, SCO Family of Services, and WHEDco. Free to take part in any activity of their choosing, some children opted for interactive arcade games, playing against the Rangers players, while other kids ventured to the huge jungle gym and rock wall. Rangers alumni Laidlaw and Greschner cheered on the kids playing air hockey. By the end of the day, all of the children left with smiles and great memories from their fun-filled afternoon with the Rangers. This definitely was the place to be!
