Garden of Dreams Revamps Summer Camp 2019
On June 25th, 30 student associates from Madison Square Garden and MSG Networks gathered at one of the Foundation’s partner organizations, Sunrise Day Camp, to help prepare the Pearl River camp for its summer campers. Sunrise Day Camp is a day camp for children with cancer and their siblings.
The day opened with Eddie, a Garden of Dreams Inspire Scholarship recipient, speaking about his fond memories with Garden of Dreams and his time as a camp counselor at Sunrise-Staten Island. The student associates were split into groups, where they completed various tasks such as painting mini golf course, picnic tables, cubbies, and the amphitheater. The groups also planted flowers throughout the campsite and made welcome bags for the Sunrise campers, which included some Madison Square Garden items.
Later in the day, the student associates cheered as they watched Sunrise-Long Island camper “The Amazing Juju” danced the same routine that she performed at the Garden of Dreams Talent Show hosted at Radio City Music Hall this past spring. It was a day full of fun and laughter as the student associates helped get the camp ready for its campers!
