O.A.R. 2.0 Reunion

After rehearsing with O.A.R.'s lead vocalist and Garden of Dreams Advisory Board member Marc Roberge, O.A.R. 2.0 took the Great Stage at Radio City to perform O.A.R.'s hit song "Peace" at the 2017 Garden of Dreams Talent Show. O.A.R. 2.0 was then invited by the band to perform at Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater for a special reunion on June 14th. Thank you Marc Roberge, O.A.R. and Northwell Health for providing a once-in-a-lifetime experience for our kids!

Garden of Dreams teen Taylor, from Cohen Children's Medical Center on Long Island, has been actively involved with the Foundation since meeting Rangers legend Adam Graves while receiving treatment in the hospital in 2011.
Since the hospital visit, Taylor has participated in various Garden of Dreams events including a personalized Make-A-Dream Come True experience with Adam Graves, the Rangers Delta Fan Flight and the Garden of Dreams Delta Holiday in the Hanger celebration. For the Tony Awards on Sunday, June 11, two Garden of Dreams 2017 Talent Show performers, Enmanuel D. and Emmanuelle C. from Children's Aid Society, had the opportunity to walk the red carpet and witness a night filled with the magic of Broadway theatre at Radio City Music Hall. New York Liberty Chess Event

As part of their season launch, the New York Liberty hosted a special chess event with current players Brittany Boyd and Sugar Rodgers as well as assistant coach Herb Williams and NYL mascot, Maddie with Garden of Dreams children from the Department of Homeless Services. The players and children had the opportunity to learn chess from a Grandmaster, who shared advice and tips with everyone. Boyd, Rodgers and Williams also surprised a family with special tickets to the Liberty home opener against the San Antonio Stars!

On Tuesday, May 9th, over 100 teens attended the fourth annual Garden of Dreams Prom at the Theater at Madison Square Garden, a night filled with 'Dreams Around the World.' The Prom attendees were greeted by a drumline at The Garden as they walked the red carpet into the Theater. New York natives and rappers Fat Joe and JoeyBada$$ surprised our teens with special performances during the night.

Eddie and Julianna, from Maria Fareri Children's Hospital, both actively participated in the music therapy program at the hospital. Eddie turned to music and signing as a way to cope with his health. Writing song for himself has become a form of meditation. For Julianna, dance has been an outlet especially during her tougher times. Both performed at Radio City for the 2017 Talent Show. Eddie sang "Unforgettable" by Nat King Cole while Julianna danced across the Great Stage.

Zoe, from partner organization Hospital for Special Surgery, was first introduced to Garden of Dreams when she auditioned for the 2017 Garden of Dreams Talent Show. had a difficult start in life when Zoe and her twin sister were born 3 months early and stayed in the hospital for 4 months. Due to her premature birth, Zoe faces obstacles including Sjögren's Syndrome, a systemic autoimmune disease that affects her entire body. Sparsh joined the Garden of Dreams family in 2017 when he played on the Great Stage at Radio City Music Hall for the Garden of Dreams Talent Show. Sparsh, from partner organization enCourage Kids Foundation, was born with an incurable disease, Osteogenesis Imperfecta, which makes his bones extremely fragile and brittle. At 13 years old, Sparsh has had more than 130 fractures, but that doesn’t stop him from doing what he loves – performing. To date, he has given over 70 live performances, including one at The Garden during a New York Knicks game. Sparsh performed "Heal the World" by Michael Jackson at the Talent Show.
