Wall of dreams

For the Tony Awards on Sunday, June 11, two Garden of Dreams 2017 Talent Show performers, Enmanuel D. and Emmanuelle C. from Children’s Aid Society, had the opportunity to walk the red carpet and witness a night filled with the magic of Broadway theatre at Radio City Music Hall. Enmanuel, who would like to become a professional singer and actor, shared his experience at the awards show:

The Tony Awards was the best thing that has ever happened to me. When we arrived, my original thought was that we’re going to be in the balcony. However, we shortly realized that was not the case. We were in a pool of celebrities. Meeting actors and actresses that I looked up to since childhood really gave me a sense of hope. I realized that at that moment I could believe. Believe that if I try hard enough with hard work and determination I can make it. I looked at my cousin in awe. Knowing that one day this will become my reality. And I noticed something special that touched my heart. As little Manny and I were taking pictures, I was amazed to see the background of the red carpet. It was almost like a garden and standing in front of it were two kids hungry for their dreams to be heard. That is exactly why I am truly honored to have been given this opportunity. Garden of Dreams, you have planted a seed of hope in my heart in which I will treasure forever.
