NY Liberty and Garden of Dreams Bake with the “Cake Boss”

On Tuesday, August 25, 2009, NY Liberty player Sidney Spencer and ten children from the Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Jersey, Garden of Dreams partner organization, visited TLC’s “Cake Boss” star, Buddy Valastro, at Carlo’s Bakery in Hoboken, NJ.
As the children packed into the famous reality-television bake shop, Buddy warmly welcomed the children and excitement quickly filled the room. Now, it was time for Buddy put the kids to work, and all were ready!
Each child assisted Buddy in creating a special Garden of Dreams sheet-cake including NY Liberty, Knicks and Rangers logos. Strategically placing the various sized logos and stars, the children completed the cake with smiles from ear to ear.
After Buddy’s cake decorating lesson, he had one more trick to share with the children – how to perfectly ice and design a cupcake. Every child was given their own cupcake and decorating tools. Over the watchful eye of the “Cake Boss,” the children iced and placed edible flowers atop their cupcakes to take home.
Before leaving, the children presented Buddy with specialized “Carlo’s Bakery” Liberty, Knicks and Rangers jerseys.
