On March 26, twenty-five kids from Children’s Aid Society followed the yellow brick road to a Wizard of Oz pre-show party!
The kids arrived and proceeded through a rainbow streamed doorway into a room filled with rainbow balloons, emerald table cloths, Oz themed coloring books and lots of yummy sweets!
In between dinner and dessert, the kids enjoyed coloring pictures of Wizard of Oz characters and completing word searches. A few of the kids shared their thoughts on where they would go if given the chance to click their very own ruby red slippers, while others played dress-up with emerald green bow ties.
After the activities were complete, the kids were delighted at the arrival of new party guests: Dorothy, the Scarecrow and a Munchkin! The show's stars answered questions, signed autographed and posed for pictures with the kids.
Following the party, all guests proceeded to the WaMu Theater at Madison Square Garden for opening night of the "Wizard of Oz".
One thing is for sure...there's no place like Madison Square Garden!
