On Sunday, April 14, the Garden of Dreams Foundation and partner organization, Make-A-Wish Foundation of Metro New York teamed up with the New York Knicks to grant the wish of 16 year old James from New York, to meet the New York Knicks and attend a Knicks game at Madison Square Garden.
Upon arrival at Madison Square Garden, James and his family were escorted into the arena to attend the team’s closed, pregame walk-through. Seated on the Knicks team bench, James was quickly whisked away into the team locker room to join Coach Mike Woodson during his coach’s meeting. During the coach’s meeting, James received an inside look at how the coaches and team prepares for a game and had the opportunity to meet the Knicks team. Following the meeting, James walked onto the court with the members of the New York Knicks for the team’s walk-through where he stood as Honorary Coach and rebounded as Honorary Ball Kid. After participating in the High Five Line of the Player Introductions and standing on court during the national anthem, James walked off the court saying, “this was much more than I ever expected.”
James celebrated a Knicks win from a catered suite with his family!
