On Thursday, January 17, Garden of Dreams and the New York Knicks hosted an exclusive viewing party at Dave & Buster’s Times Square for children to cheer on the Knicks as they topped the Pistons 102-82 in London. Twenty-five children from Garden of Dreams partner organization, Harlem Dowling, were greeted by Knicks legend Larry Johnson, the Knicks City Dancers and New York Liberty mascot Maddie for an afternoon full of fun.
Before the event began, the children were excited and fascinated by the lights of Times Square surrounding the entrance of Dave and Buster’s. The children then toured Dave & Buster’s while engaging in games as well as watching the Knicks-Piston’s matchup. The children were treated to lunch and throughout the game had the opportunity to interact with Larry Johnson, the Knicks City Dancers and Maddie as they played games and took pictures with the children.
Before leaving, each child received gift bags, posters, and autographs. The children truly enjoyed the special afternoon spent with the Knicks and Garden of Dreams.
“This was the best day of my life,” one child shouted as he left Dave & Buster's.
