Knicks Help Provide Thanksgiving Meals

Saturday, November 17, 2012

On Saturday, November 17, Knicks players Ronnie Brewer, Raymond Felton, Kurt Thomas, Marcus Camby and Rasheed Wallace joined the New York Knicks and Garden of Dreams Foundation to host a Thanksgiving “Day of Giving” with children and families from the Children’s Aid Society, a partner organization of the Garden of Dreams Foundation. Knicks Legend, Cal Ramsey and Liberty Alum, Kym Hampton and Councilwoman Dickens came out to support the event by helping hand out meals to the families. During the event, 350 families visited the Children’s Aid Society Milbank Dunlevy Center - including some affected by Hurricane Sandy -  to receive a complete meal to share with their families on Thanksgiving Day. Each meal included vegetables, stuffing, a pie, cranberry sauce and of course, a turkey.  While the families picked up their meals, they warmed up with hot chocolate and cookies and enjoyed a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet and interact with their Knicks heroes.
