Dream Week - Day Three
Wednesday, July 8, 2009
On Wednesday, July 8, future NBA and WNBA stars from the Dream Week team enjoyed another beautiful summer day at the MSG Training Center in Westchester with the New York Knicks and Liberty.
Knicks alumnus, John Starks and Liberty legend, Kym Hampton welcomed the Dream Weekers on their third day of camp and kicked off the morning with a friendly trivia competition and warm-up exercise, complete with a few laps and jumping jacks.
The morning continued as the Knicks City Dancers took the stage to teach a special group performance to the children, followed by a late morning "lounge tournament" which included pool, ping pong, pop-a-shots and Wii bowling inside the Knicks team lounge.
Greg Brittenham, the head Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Knicks helped the kids work off their lunch inside the Knicks weight room, before the children headed outside for some Knicks Groove Truck excitement.
The Lady Liberty joined in the fun for a special "Dream Day" portion of Dream Week which included private tours of the Liberty area of the Training Center, personalized jerseys for each child, and a player-made fan tunnel, followed by an afternoon basketball clinic with the entire Liberty team and coaching staff.
The afternoon concluded with an autograph session and impromptu dance party featuring children, players and even a few coaches!
Dream Week continues on Thursday, July 9 as MSG Media will host the Dream Week team at the Liberty-Sparks game at Madison Square Garden.
