Knicks "Dream Big Speak Out" Visits Washington D.C.

Dream Big Speak Out is an original program created by the Garden of Dreams Foundation, New York Knicks and Urban Word NYC that is designed to inspire students to engage and reflect on the African American experience as well as how Black History inspires everyday lives. Over the course of an 8-week program, 15 teens from Garden of Dreams partner organization, SCO Family of Services will meet weekly at the Urban Word offices to explore history, poetry, music and popular culture to cultivate their powerful, youth voices.

Garden of Dreams 2014 Prom Highlights

The Inaugural Garden of Dreams Prom, April 8, 2014, was a magical night for 52 teens where children who have battled serious medical issues had the chance to enjoy prom with children from partner organization WHEDco, who put their own struggles aside to give back to the community by helping provide a memorable evening for another child.

Guinness Book of World Records with Jill Martin

Knicks Broadcaster and Fashion Contributor to the TODAY show, Jill Martin teamed up with Kenneth Cole and the Garden of Dreams Foundation to set the world record for largest high heeled shoe. Garden of Dreams children joined Jill Martin and Kenneth Cole to help create the 6-foot 5-inch long, 5-foot 1-inch tall shoe to be awarded the "Offically Amazing" certificate and make their mark in the Guiness Book of World Records.

Skate Date with Rangers Girardi and Staal

The New York Rangers joined The Garden of Dreams Foundation in welcoming 100 youth from Children’s Aid Society for a skate date as part of, “Show Kids New York.”  On November 12th  Ranger players Dan Girardi and Marc Staal took a break from the most famous arena in the world, Madison Square Garden,  to visit the most famous ice rink in the world, Rockefeller Center.

Knicks All-Star Basketball Tournament

Hockey Fights Cancer

The Garden of Dreams Foundation and the New York Rangers went lavendar on November 5th to join the continued fight against cancer.  Along with a power play overtime win, there were many exciting and memorable moments throughout the game.  The night kicked off in The Lounges at Madison Square Garden, where children and families from Make-A-Wish of Suffolk County, a partner of the Foundation, were greeted by face painters and  a catered buffet dinner.

New York Liberty Scavenger Hunt at Bronx Zoo

Children from Garden of Dreams partner organization, Harlem Dowling were joined by members of the New York Liberty for a scavenger hunt at the Bronx Zoo. The children were divided into teams and dispersed throughout the Zoo to solve clues about the various wildlife exhibits. With the help of the Liberty players and the Torch Patrol, searching for the answers as a team was fun and educational all at once. At the conclusion of the hunt, everyone gathered together to get the results and the children were able to take pictures with their new friends on the New York Liberty.
